Typical session structure
We start with a brief check-in with individual members of the group, with a little more time spent on the dreamer from the last session.
We work one group member’s dream in each session. If no one has a dream, there is always something else to work on as if it were a dream, such as a deep imagery process, a traumatic memory, or a somatic experience. You would be amazed….
After working a dream, there are always invitations offered to help the dream deepen/amplify the process, or help integrate the work. These invitations/practices are done between the evening of the dream work and the next group meeting.
We end with some integrative discussion about the last dream, and how it lives in each of us.
Important note: While dream groups are a great place to learn more about dreams and to gather with good people, the dream being tended in any given session, and the experience of the dreamer, will be prioritized and centered above group learning or group process.
Dream Groups
Dream groups are a great way to drop into dream work that is often more affordable than private sessions, and there is so much to say about the intimacy that is naturally created by doing this work with a group of people over time.
While dreams might have highly personal material embedded in them, they are also collective, and every dream is healing for everyone who experiences them. There is remarkable benefit for saturating oneself in the individual and collective dream experience that arises in a group setting.
Benefits from group dream work
You will get a greater sense of the varied nature of the dream palette or vocabulary that shows up in each psyche.
You will grow and learn about yourself even if your dream is not the one being worked in a session.
You will learn more about dream work and the nature of dreams than if you were only to have your own dreams worked in private sessions because you will witness dreams from the outside of the spell.
We use ceremony, art, movement, poetry, story telling, journaling, and many other practices to amplify, animate and integrate the dream.
